150 Years of Existence

Founded in 1870 as the Croatian Typographic Society, we are the oldest trade union in Croatia and beyond. We have survived wars, worked under different states and systems, and today still operate with the same zeal.

Organisation

The bodies and structure of the Union of Printing and Media Industry are determined by the Statute. Each member has the right to elect and be elected, and to participate in the Union’s work on all organisational levels.

Collective Bargaining

Through collective bargaining, we secure workers with rights more extensive than those prescribed by law. Having a collective agreement is safer for workers than having the employer determining their rights unilaterally.

Labuor Law Protection

Our specialists provide free-of-charge services related to labour law protection. We provide protection to our members gradually, starting from information and mediation to litigation and industrial action.

Solidarity

Solidarity is demonstrated through assistance to members in certain situations by payments from the Solidarity Fund, the Strike Fund and the Funeral Fund. Members also use our short-term union loans.

Information and Education

We regularly publish our bulletin "Grafičar i mediji", and we also use digital media. We continually provide trainings to workers' representatives in the field of labour law and strive to educate all workers.

Sporting Events

The Sporting Events for Workers in Printing, Communications, Publishing and Media have been held since 1975. They are a combination of sports and entertainment, competition and fellowship, rivalry and solidarity.
